But I Want a Record Deal!
Our imprint Creative Soul Records has long
been mainly a record label "service company" for it's
recording artists. Our practice in this area has always been to
help the artists that we produce from a services standpoint, getting
paid in a manager type role (a monthly retainer). That way, artists
keep 100% of their sales and ownership of their product.
In this role, we
normally assist with radio promotion (finding the right radio
promoter and working closely with that company to get national
radio play), publicity (finding a publicist for the artist and
trying to build a publicity campaign), distribution (find outlets
for sales of physical product), as well as work with the artist
on how to use all these services to find and stimulate more gigs
and ministry opportunities.
Again, until
now, most of these services were reserved for artists we had
already produced with our Nashville production company. But we
see the incredible amount of folks who already have a product
they have spent a good amount of time, money, and energy on, and
we know you need help.
The
New Deal
Our Record Label Services Coaching is a way for
artists to get real answers on what to do next with their developed
products. We will even consider artists and bands that have quality
product to be under our label umbrella. But we will also be completely
honest, give you REAL impressions about what we see and hear,
and give you the best information so you can decide the next best
steps for your music.
This consulting
could be a step toward a meeting with a label, or it could be
a suggestion to go back to the drawing board completely. But we
will tell you WHY we recommend any course of action, and don't
just say you're not good enough.
We also will always
consider amazing artists with amazing material and/or product
for production or even adding to the Creative Soul Records roster.
