Artist Case Study

Brett Rush
New Providence, PA

Brett is a dynamic pastor and praise singer/songwriter who found us online and got in touch for a day of consulting. We later began his first CD, spotlighting his aggressive acoustic guitar and voice.

His 2nd CD "Invitation" represents his evolution from beginning artist, to mainstream CCM artist. Singles from this CD have done very well on the Inspirational radio charts.

It wasn't easy to grow, because sometimes that means getting out of your comfort zone. If you ask Brett he will tell you he has been asked to stretch beyond what he knew, and he's now able to take his music and ministry to a larger audience because of it.

Real words from real clients

"Working with Eric has been a blessing for my music ministry. He took me from ground zero knowing I had the music background and desire and not much else! Since that time, I have grown and will continue to grow so much as a singer because Eric is helping me reach industry standards and teaching me what that is all about...(He) has a growing number of top industry contacts that every Creative Soul artist will benefit. I am truly with Eric at the right place and the right time!" - Carolyn Russell, Christian Vocalist, New Orleans, LA

This may be the most important page you read. Why? Because we feel this may be our greatest calling: Developing the Christian Artist Ministry.

You've heard the terms before, "A&R", "Artist Development". But what do they really mean?

A&R is short for Artist & Repertoire.

A&R has been around a long time. Record companies have used A&R people to help find artists, find them the right songs to sing, and then develop them into long lasting music success stories.

At least, that was what they HOPED to do. These days if a debut record doesn't go gold it could mean the end of an artist's career.

Our version of Artist Development goes something like this: We work with artists to develop amazing songs that will reach, teach, and grow the world for Christ, then we use our expertise and experience to help take those songs to an undeniable quality level in recording, design, and promotional materials.

What about Artist Development?

Well, we think it means growing as a music ministry, by dramatically increasing the quality of your music, recordings, promotional materials, as well as the direction of your ministry and message.

Production has long been our calling card, but through this we have worked with hundreds of Christian artists who've experienced the highs and lows that go with being a Christian, being a performer, being an artist, and being a person - all at the same time.

Being a Christian artist. It's not an easy thing. And more than that, how do you break through to new levels of success and effectiveness in ministry?

Designing a Blueprint

Before you build anything, you need to have a plan. From day one, we want to work with you to dig deep and find out what your calling is, and what is the best way to achieve your music and ministry goals. We call this consulting, but it's really about finding out what your goals are, what your mission is, and how we can accomplish what God has for you to do.

Developing Your Craft, Raising the Bar

It really all starts with songs. Are they as good as they can be? We spend time on this BEFORE we spend thousands recording.

Then, of course, it's putting a product out there that no one can say no to. No door can close because the product, sound, or design is not of the quality they want to see. You may say, "But this is Christian music, they should be listening to the message." Well, they won't ever get to the message unless the packaging, photos, design, and production sound are every bit as good as any project from a major record label.

This may be where you decide you don't want to be that kind of professional artist. That radio, distribution, publicity, and marketing are things you don't want to pursue. That's fine, and God can STILL bless your ministry.

But for those who feel that is where God is leading, this is where we come in from a development and production standpoint.

Why do I need to develop? People say I'm already there!

This is a common way we get held down in our development. Our local friends and family, even local professionals tell us we are incredible, and that we need to be making a living using our talents. But believe me, there is always someone better than you are.

To be what you want to be, you are going to have to leave that comfort zone where you feel comfortable and non-threatened. The reason you're probably reading this right now, is that you are bored with where you are, you feel restless and you are ready to be more than you have been.

What is "The Next Level" for me?

If you are a professional ministry currently touring a bit, it could mean a national audience, or a larger one.

If you are just investigating your desire to use your talent, it could mean hooking up with a company that can help you define and refine your talents and get started in the right direction.

If you have been singing, maybe even writing some songs for years, and everyone has always said you need to get serious with your music, then maybe you need to get started with a producer on a recorded product.

Whatever the next level is for you, we can help. We can answer questions and give you direction, or we can put together award-winning songs, A-list production, and help you get out there nationally.
